We're a not-for-profit creating Edinburgh's first outdoor, clean-energy community sauna, with plunge pools. Our space will be phone and smart glasses free.
We want sauna to be part of everyday life with a real community around it. A place to switch off, unwind, and see familiar faces. We hope to run dedicated sessions for those who might otherwise find it difficult to take part. For example, women going through menopause, those who might feel uncomfortable in a swimming costume or anyone who's just not sure sauna is for them.
We'd like to make our saunas accessible. This was partly inspired by initial research into Finnish saunas, particularly Curbfree with Cory Lee's post about wheelchair users and saunas.
We are a member of the Community Sauna Network.

We're currently evaluating potential sites across Edinburgh that could accommodate Blue Badge parking and accessible toilets, as well as solar power to supplement a grid connection. We've also spoken with local elected representatives as we explore potential locations.
